What is the goal of these studies?

  1. The goal of studying His Word is: John 17:1-3 “to know Him” and to enjoy a deeper relationship with Him and bring much pleasure to the one who loves us.

  2. To grow in the Grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18

  3. To grow to love ‘The Truth’. 2 Thessalonians 2:10

How are we to achieve that?

Now, you cannot have a glance at your food, NOR intently look at the food on your plate – you need to EAT IT to be nourished.

Example: Ezekiel 2:7-3:3

  1. He had to HEAR. – We must study the Eternal Word.

  2. The scroll open to look into it. – We have the Bible to investigate.

  3. 4 x it is mentioned that he had to EAT. – We must EAT, assimilate, the Word.
  4. V3 tells us how much. – We must saturate our inner being, until we are full.
  5. V3 it tells us the result. – We will have lots to rejoice about.

Conclusion:

  1. To benefit you need to saturate yourself with and be in the Word of God.

  2. Only then you will become more and more effective in what you do in your preaching, in your teaching, in your relationship with one another.

  3. We are then in a better position to bring pleasure to Him who loves us.

Our NEXT challenge: We are going to deal first with a short teaching, entitled:

CL-01 Do you really LOVE the Word of God?
